Bee Cave and the Lake Travis corridor have a mix of larger residential rainwater systems and higher-end custom homes where the system was installed as part of the build and then largely forgotten. Those are the ones we most often find with an aged-out UV lamp or a loaded filter bank quietly cutting house pressure. Permitting note
Bee Cave is incorporated, so permitting runs through the City of Bee Cave rather than Travis County — the county doesn't issue development permits inside a municipality. The city also requires contractors to be registered with it before any permit is issued.

Local conditions
Bee Cave is different from most of our service area: there is utility water here, so rainwater is usually a choice rather than a necessity. Owners choose it for water quality — soft, low-mineral water that doesn't scale fixtures and appliances the way Hill Country groundwater does — for independence from drought-stage watering restrictions, and because on a large home the system earns back against utility rates over time. That changes what neglect looks like. A house with a utility connection can run for months on a failing rainwater system without anyone noticing, which is why the ones we get called to here are often further gone than the ones out in the county.
